While similar to the RCM01 model, this version features an aluminum construction and a slightly larger frame. We highly recommend this design, which also boasts an upgraded high-end metal anti-wind cap.
The RCM02 is an amazing upgrade to our top-selling RCM01 model, designed for crystal-clear capturing of vocals, acoustic and amplified instruments, as well as room reverb. Its frequency pickup pattern makes it an exceptional choice for studio applications.
The aluminum construction ensures the RCM02 is tough enough for live sound applications as well. Versatile in its connection options, this microphone can be used with the phantom power of your mixer or directly connected to your computer sound card, with both cables included.
Quality is evident both inside and out. The large diaphragm enables the RCM02 to deliver a wider range of high and low frequencies compared to competitors, with a frequency range tested at 30Hz - 20kHz, ensuring crystal-clear sound without distortion.

The Rockville RCM02 Pro Studio Recording "Lollipop" Style Condenser Microphone features an all-aluminum chassis design for optimal balance between weight and performance, along with a standard shock mount. Its unidirectional cardioid polar pattern reduces pickup of sound from the sides and rear, minimizing unwanted noise.
The permanently polarized single-sided "electret" style capsule with a medium-sized 16mm diaphragm delivers natural sound and a wide pickup area. Requiring 48V DC phantom power, the RCM02 offers a sensitivity of -29dB±2dB (0dB=1V/Pa at 1kHz) and an output impedance of 200Ω±30% (at 1kHz), with a standard operating voltage of 3V and an operating voltage range of 1.5V-10V.
The microphone's current consumption is less than or equal to 500μA, with a voltage deduction characteristic within 3dB at 2V. It boasts an impressive S/N ratio of 74dB and a frequency response of 30Hz - 20kHz, along with a fixed crossover filter cutoff frequency of 40Hz-16kHz. The RCM02 can handle a load impedance of 1000 Ohms or greater and has an equivalent noise level of less than or equal to 18dBA (IEC 581-5), with a maximum input SPL of 126dB (THD=1.0% at 1kHz) and an electrical current of 4.8mA or greater.
The microphone body has a net weight of 380 grams (0.84 pounds), a maximum diameter of 51mm (2 inches), and a length of 215mm (8.46 inches). Its construction features a steel basket and an aluminum body, with a surface-mounted PCB layout.
